Baïse Trail

A port-to-port walk, covering a distance of 11 kilometres, the Sentier de la Baïse allows you to connect the ports of Condom and Valence-sur-Baïse on foot, by bike and on horseback, via the double manual lock of Graziac and the Cistercian abbey of Flaran.

Walk in the footsteps of the sailors and their crew, between the ports of Condom and Valence-sur-Baïse.

Halfway, the natural site of Graziac offers a space for discovery and relaxation with explanatory panels on the history of the navigable river. Shaded and peaceful picnic area, dry toilets, water point and arboretum.

From April to October, the lock house comes alive; you will meet the lock keepers who operate the only double manual lock still in operation on the Baïse River.

A charming, intimate and secret place, this site is very popular with boaters, walkers, fishermen and visitors.

The starting point of the Sentier de la Baïse in Condom is located either at the port or at the Gauge lock, near the municipal campsite.

The starting point of the Sentier de la Baïse in Valence-sur-Baïse can be done either via the port of Valence and its guinguette, or via the abbey of Flaran.

Route and distances:
From the Gauge lock (Condom) to the Graziac lock = 4 km (half-grassy/half-stone path).
From Graziac lock to Flaran abbey = 4 km (grassy path).
From Flaran Abbey to the port of Valence-sur-Baïse = 3 km (stony path).

Be careful during floods; from time to time, the Baïse River overflows its banks. Stay vigilant.
