Presentation

The majestic 14th- and 16th-century stone cathedral of Saint-Pierre, with its southern and flamboyant Gothic architecture, spacious cloister, and elegant episcopal palace, reveals the history of the town of Condom. Located in the outbuildings of the former episcopal palace, the Armagnac Museum (currently closed indefinitely) explores the production cycle of this Gascon brandy. Around a monumental 19th-century vat press, museum spaces are dedicated to agricultural and winemaking techniques, distillation, and cooperage.

Around this complex, the elegant stone and wrought iron facades of the private mansions reveal the classical style of the 17th and 18th centuries and reflect the wealth of the Armagnac producers who transformed the town of Condom into an essential commercial center.

Today, the town is listed among the Great Sites of Occitanie under the title "Armagnac Abbey and Cities" around the Cistercian abbey of Flaran, the fortified village of Larressingle, gentle travel including hiking, the Way of St. James and river tourism on the Baïse river, and Armagnac; our history, our landscapes and our Eau de Vie.

To guide you during your heritage walk, the Tourist Office provides a visitor's guide with a map of the discovery trail through the historic center. Marked by 16 information panels, this hour-and-a-half walk allows you to discover the city's rich past.

For groups, guided tours can be booked all year round by calling 05.62.28.00.80.

In Condom, also take the "Clé des Champs!" to admire "The colors of time".
Did you know that you can read the colours of time in the Baïse, the proud Gascon river? Sometimes grey, blue, suddenly green or coffee with milk... Its shades tell us about the climate and tell you about the passing of time...
To get there :
- By car: parking on the quays, port side. Cross the D930 on foot, towards the Théâtre des Carmes. Take the path between river and theater.
- On foot: starting from the water park, walk 300 meters towards Condom then take the towpath on the right. Follow the Baïse river downstream for 700 meters.
