Presentation

Here, just a stone's throw from the fortified town of Montréal-du-Gers, some curious Gascons came up with the idea of "returning to nature" a former leisure center and its swimming lake. And it's to our great delight! An educational walk to get your fill of nature.

At your discretion and with your binoculars! The trail is dotted with observation decks and interpretive panels presenting the flora and fauna of the wetlands.
The edges of the pond have been remodeled to recreate wetlands conducive to biodiversity: mudflats, reed beds, ponds, willow groves, etc.
While the mallards enjoy the peace and quiet of the green island, the coots raise their young in the reed bed.
Herons and kingfishers enjoy the nearby river. This pond has become a veritable hotel-restaurant for a whole host of birds, mammals, insects... and even reptiles, with the much-desired presence of the European pond turtle, our local freshwater turtle.
Picnic area, playground, public toilets and covered courtyard complete the facilities.
