NIA draws inspiration from 9 disciplines encompassing dance, martial arts, and body awareness. With no requirements regarding skill level, age, or physical condition, this technique primarily aims to promote letting go and the joy of movement.
Synergizing with jazz, modern and Isadora Duncan dance, tai chi chuan, taekwondo, aikido, the Alexander technique, the teachings of Moshe Feldenkrais® and yoga, Nia addresses both body and mind.
The movements are innovative, offering large areas of freedom and personal expression for a space of connection and reconnection to oneself.
The choreographies are performed to music of all styles in order to both stimulate and relax.
It's invigorating, fun, and the energizing and relaxing effect is guaranteed!
This discipline, which originated in the United States in the 80s, has thus changed from the descriptive No Impact Aerobic to Now I Am in order to emphasize the confidence and self-esteem encouraged by its practice.
