The V82 offers you a route that stretches over 170 km between Buzet-sur-Baïse and Lannemezan, connecting to the Scandibérique-EuroVélo 3 then to the Canal des Deux Mers to the north and to the V81 Pyrenean Piedmont cycle route to the south.
Crossing a little of Lot-et-Garonne, mainly Gers and arriving in the Hautes-Pyrénées, this cycle route requires, due to its uneven terrain, excellent physical condition and will be the preserve of seasoned cyclists.
The view of the snow-capped Pyrenean peaks is well worth the effort!
It mainly uses small country roads, shared with other users.
Stay vigilant and respect the highway code, you travel the route at your own risk.
We recommend that you wear a helmet and a safety vest.
A cycle route full of history:
From the Pyrenean foothills to the Albret region, the Baïse River rushes down the rural landscapes of French Tuscany: Gascony, this humpbacked slice of the South-West.
For thousands of years, it has been creating fertile valleys and gentle hills where the grape varieties that will become Armagnacs, Flocs, Côtes de Gascogne and Buzet wines flourish.
Along the way, there is a diversity of bucolic landscapes; orchards and vineyards, cereal fields and forests, plains and valleys... with the Pyrenees mountain range as a landmark. Did you know that it is nicknamed the "happy valley"?
Once a real trade route for the transport of flour, ores, coal and the famous Armagnac, the Baïse valley invites you to discover picturesque gems: Buzet-sur-Baïse, Vianne, Barbaste, Nérac, Moncrabeau, Condom, Valence-sur-Baïse, Beaucaire, Castéra-Verduzan, Auch, l'Isle de Noé, Mirande, Trie-sur-Baïse, Galan...
Abbey, Gallo-Roman pile, Gascon castles, chapels and cathedrals, locks... punctuate the itinerary, to complete the adventure of a journey through time. Immerse yourself in the heart of the history of France with Henri IV, and cycle in the footsteps of the Musketeers including the Gersois D'Artagnan!
