Montreal-du-Gers Pond

Fancy some nature? Between the Souvenir Factory located in the heart of the bastide of Montreal and the luxurious Gallo-Roman villa of Séviac is a little corner of nature: a renatured pond!
Here, some funny Gascons had the idea of ​​returning an old swimming lake to nature.
Wetlands have been recreated (mudflat, willow grove, pond, reed bed, etc.) all around a pond which protects in its center a vegetated island where mallard ducks, coots, kingfishers and herons nest.
700 metres long, the tour of the pond offers a short nature walk to enjoy at your own pace, with the family, with a picnic area and games for children.
Make this space your own to discover, play, rest... soak up this recreated biodiversity! You will find a discovery trail on site, with signs inviting you to discover the fauna and flora of the site.

Also between the car park and the pond is the start of hikes, PR 18 and 19, which will take you through the countryside and the vineyards.

For the more curious, continue the adventure and take “Les Clefs des Champs!” with “Le Salon” by the pond, where you can sit on the wooden armchairs to enjoy a break.
