Fourcès, enter the round
Attention, life-size postcard decor! This atypical circular village is part of the large family of “Most Beautiful Villages of France ®”. Trust us, you won't feel like you're going in circles. Here, we take our time. Each facade, or alleys are an ode to savoring the present moment.
As soon as you cross the medieval bridge, the magic begins. Fourcès, the photogenic, knows how to pose on all her curves. To immortalize: the reflection of the castle in the waters of the Auzoue river, the 360 degrees of the central square lined with arcades, the Clock Tower against the backdrop of the sunset...
Green nature and typical half-timbered houses combine to offer us a perfect cocktail to consume without moderation! The heart of Fourcès is occupied by its round square, a reminder of an ancient castle mound. Today we meet there in the shade of the plane trees to party, play pétanque, attend concerts, hunt at flea markets, etc. A village with an artistic soul, where a simple walk through its streets transports us into a world of beauty and serenity.
Located on the banks of the river, the church, dedicated to Saint-Laurent, was built on the remains of a first 13th century building.rd century. The 13th Century Clock Towerrd century allows an escape to the “Fourcès nature side” with its arboretum and its path along the canal.
