Discover the Roman art of living with the Interpretation Center which will allow you to understand the city of Elusa and the daily life of the Romans. The Domus is an archaeological site of an urban residence that belonged to a wealthy family.
In the heart of the ancient city of Elusa, discover the Roman art of living at the Domus de Cieutat!
Before throwing yourself into the deep end of Romanism, you can familiarize yourself with the Roman Empire thanks to the interpretation center, set up in the former Eauze station! This space will allow you to understand the scale of the city of Elusa thanks to an interactive and fun scenography and will transport you into the daily life of an ancient city.
Secondly, you will be invited to get some fresh air to discover the archaeological site of the Domus de Cieutat. This extremely wealthy urban residence, which belonged to a wealthy family, was located in one of the residential areas of Elusa. The 2700th century marks the apogee of the Domus which then occupies XNUMX m² and constitutes a place of ceremonial and reception for its owner, probably a local notable. A unique atmosphere awaits you on this site which offers the visitor an overview of the extent of the ancient city through a route along the ancient Gallo-Roman streets.
The Domus of Cieutat is an excellent starting point for understanding the history of the three sites that make up the "ELUSA Ancient Capital" archaeological hub. So, don't hesitate to extend your experience with a visit to the Eauze Treasure Museum and the Villa of Séviac, the two other ELUSA sites!
