Presentation

Today Lectoure Town Hall, it also houses the Archaeological Museum

Nestled against the cathedral, the former bishops' palace is in itself a demonstration of the power of the prelates. Its strict main building, in the purest classic style, imposes elegance and rigor.

At the rear of the main building you will find the bishops' residence, assembly place, chestnut garden...

This jealously hidden place is a delight for the eyes.

The "hanging" garden dominates the valley, so don't be shy, cross the old bishop's palace to get there.

The height of surprise, once you lean on the railing with your gaze pointing south, you will discover, in addition to the Pyrenees in the distance, the municipal swimming pool positioned on the terrace below. Yes, you are not dreaming, a swimming pool with panoramic view... it is part of the heritage of the 60s of which we are very proud.

Theme(s) : historical heritage, religious heritage, palaces.
