Presentation

As for the history of the building, we start in the 13th century and end in the 17th century.

The Saint Laurent de Fleurance Church is not in the center of the city, the bastides make the market and commerce the priority. As a result, the church will be built on a slope, the floor of the nave will irremediably attract you towards the sanctuary. It’s a good thing that one of the gems of this building is located there, the 16th century stained glass windows by Master Arnaud de Moles.
Made in 1505, these three stained glass windows represent the Old Testament, the New Testament and the major Patron Saints of the time. Saint Laurent, name of the Church of Fleurance, was martyred by the Romans at the beginning of our era.

How do you take care of a man inhabited by the Christian faith when you are a Roman animated by paganism? You will find it on the leftmost bay of the register of three. A hint, this activity is seasonal in summer, not to mention religious.

The work of Arnaud de Moles is recognized for its finesse, the slightly pastel colors, the techniques creating relief and an innovative look at religious themes.

However, you will be able to detect a curious representation of Christ, adorned with an unusual tool from his history. The organs of the Magen organist (he will also be active in Lectoure) give free concerts every summer, to be watched.

Theme(s) : religious heritage, church.
