Presentation

The Graziac double lock, a remarkable example of architecture, was built between 1838 and 1850 using dressed stone. Originally, it had wooden gates, which have since been replaced with metal ones. It is a two-chamber lock, each chamber approximately 30 meters long, with a difference in water level of 4,50 meters between the upper and lower parts of the waterway.

Originally, it is a manual lock. For safety reasons due to the complexity and fragility of this type of structure on a fast-moving river, it can only be crossed in the presence of a lock keeper from April to the end of October. A 42 m hard pontoon offers boaters the possibility of mooring and enjoying the shaded site.

Between April 1st and October 31st, enjoy the experience of navigation and passage through locks in free navigation with boat rental: contact Le D'Artagnan Échappée Gasconne 05 62 28 46 46.

The Graziac site offers walkers an unexpected spectacle, almost out of time... The Sentier de la Baïse, 11 kilometres long and built on the old towpath, joins from Graziac, upstream the port of Valence-sur-Baïse to the Abbaye de Flaran, and downstream to the port of Condom.
