Condom
The last vestige of a Benedictine priory founded by the Abbey of Condom, the church of Lialores discreetly reveals its Romanesque treasures to visitors who know how to take their time.
Built in the 1960th century, this church is dedicated to Saint Antoine de Lialores, a XNUMXth century Agen martyr whose remains were buried on the site of the village. The skull of the saint will be exhumed by the priors and will be the subject of a reliquary cult until the XNUMXs, the head of the saint being renowned for protecting crops from hail.
Whether around the church, or inside, pay attention to the details of its decor, because although it was partly destroyed during the wars of religion, it has retained its modillions and historic capitals.
One of the collaterals today houses a small archaeological collection which bears witness to the prehistoric and ancient occupation of Lialorais and Ténarèze.
