Presentation

Beaucaire, whose name comes from the Gascon word for "beautiful pebble" (beautiful stone), due to its location on a rocky outcrop, is a former port on the navigable Baïse River. The village boasts a charming square opening onto a neo-Gothic church where two of the 121 sarcophagi from a nearby Merovingian necropolis are displayed. The parish church of Beaucaire was rebuilt in 1869 and houses furnishings from the late 19th century. The church is open on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 2 pm to 6 pm.

Take "The Key to the Fields" and discover "The Castle of Colors." Keep your eyes peeled. The ruins of Pardailhan Castle are up there, above the vineyards. Everything seems peaceful... It's time to embrace the green or see red: two ways of revealing the same landscape... Read the clouds, see an omen. To get there, go to the village square, pass the town hall, and continue along this street until you cross the D939. Continue straight ahead and pass the hamlet of "La Bourdasse." Continue to the hamlet of Pardailhan. Walk alongside the hamlet and park at the edge of the vineyard.
