Ranked 4 flowers in the national prize for towns and villages in bloom, the delicate village of Blaziert can be visited using your senses! Its original discovery trail is dotted with sundials of all kinds. This stroll is completed by a botanical trail to perfect your knowledge.
Located to the east of the village, the neo-Gothic Saint-Blaise church is also worth a visit. The 19th century sacristy preserves on its wall a secret charcoal drawing representing Christ on the cross. This is a unique case in the department, it is said to be a preparatory drawing for a large canvas. In the church, we notice the 15th century baptismal font, a beautiful white marble altar and especially the 13 stained glass windows which are currently the subject of a major restoration campaign.
Perched atop its hill, Blaziert also offers a magnificent 360° panoramic view. From here, the Gers countryside unfolds into a beautiful tableau, a tapestry of diverse crops and wilder landscapes. History and humankind have left their mark through buildings such as castles and fortified houses. Hiking trails, like "The Path of Scents" and "The Auvignon Valley," allow visitors to discover all that Blaziert has to offer.
Take "The Keys to the Fields" and discover "The Sower." Do you hear it? It's the sower's footsteps in the fields. The seeds are planted. Everything begins now. The landscapes will reveal themselves... The fields come alive before our eyes.
To get there, take the path below the car park for around ten metres.
