Center for Art and Photography

The Lectoure Center for Art and Photography, created in 1991, is the only contemporary art center in the Gers.

Focused on photography but open to all contemporary artistic forms, it participates in raising awareness and artistic education in the region through the diversity of its actions. It organizes monographic and collective exhibitions all year round, inside and outside the walls, artist residencies as well as Lectoure Photographic Summer, a photography festival since 1990, in heritage places in the city. It supports artistic creation by welcoming artists in residence, the production and distribution of new works and promotes access to culture in rural areas through mediation actions for a wide audience.

The Lectoure Center for Art and Photography is supported by the City of Lectoure, the Department of Gers, the Occitanie / Pyrenees - Mediterranean Region and the DRAC Occitanie / Ministry of Culture. In 2020, the Lectoure Center for Art and Photography obtained the CACIN label (contemporary art center of national interest).
