Cie OBRA / Bubble
Cycle Cultures in migration

Alistair loves words. Alistair likes long words, short words, words strung together like
sentences, poems, stories, plays. He likes their sound, their shape, their taste.
Alistair likes to say them out loud, making sounds and words heard. Alistair is an actor, an actor who lives in France. An actor who loves words, English words.
In Bubble, OBRA invites us to discover the strange and wonderful world of the English language.
Our protagonist Alistair launches into a ridiculous and sublime staging of a solo version of
Macbeth in English in a portable Shakespearean grocery store full of words, poems and
theatrical texts. A feat of linguistic gymnastics, which goes from political history and
social issues, tense relations between English and French, and his failed ambitions. Alistair
will take on all the roles, the Shakespearean heroes and villains facing countless murders, in a constantly changing setting with electronic music in the background. Alistair will guide you in French (with a charming accent) in a passionate, informative, poignant, bloody and often ridiculous performance.
Bubble is a celebration of language, poetic expression and communication, of inordinate ambition and one man's need to share his obsessive love of words.
