A curious and daring artist, Joachim Maudet multiplies his experiences as a performer with choreographers like Akram Khan, Christian Ubl or Samuel Faccioli and Bérengère Fournier de La Vouivre. At the same time, he created the Compagnie Les Vagues with which he developed work around the relationship/dissociation of the body and the voice. Acclaimed during the last Avignon Off, WELCOME is a funny and disturbing trio where, thanks to the magic of ventriloquism, bodies and voices dissociate, dialogue and intermingle. Lit in immaculate white, three hybrid beings move in slow motion, crossed by inner voices which agitate, revolt with humor or twirl while the words twist and disintegrate, dig into the flesh and shape the postures. Joachim Maudet creates an infinite game of compositions and dissociations, transforming bodies into physical and sound landscapes. It reveals the invisible power of speech which allows divided bodies to come together and communicate, beyond the physical envelope.
