53rd BANDAS y PENAS Festival

Condom, the capital of the Ténarèze region, located in the north of the Gers department, hosts the Festival de Bandas y Peñas, the largest gathering of brass and percussion bands in southwestern France. The entertainment takes the form of street performances and staged events.

The Festival presents artists, live street performances and contemporary music concerts to the public.
In addition to the Grand Paquito, which is very popular with the public, you can attend the Bandas competition.

The musical program:
Luiza, Chef & the Gang, Les Fantaskes, Pistons, Laura Laffon, Gaitistanek Orkestra, Lous Astiaous, Fanou...

Each year the jury has the responsibility of awarding prizes to the best groups for their performance in musical and festive entertainment.

Between tradition and modernity, the Festival de Bandas y Peñas aims to be the symbol of a living and enthusiastic Gascon culture.

FRIDAY 8 MAY
18:30pm - The festival opens on Friday at 18:30pm with the handing over of the keys to the city to the musicians, in front of the town hall, followed by the opening aperitif with Band'A'Part.
From 20:30pm onwards, enjoy concerts on the main stage and brass bands in the streets of the city.

SATURDAY 9 MAY
From 14pm to 5am - Street parade. Band competition and non-stop street parade!
15pm - Landes-style bullfighting & rugby.
Landes-style bullfighting: Entry €13 - free for children under 12.
Left Bank Area - Rue des Arènes
Touch Rugby match (5 players): organised by Les Coquelicots, free entry.
Jean Trillo Stadium, Condom
21pm - Performance of the bandas in competition.
01h - Concerts.

Food service area:
The Bodegas of Condom's associations offer light meals. You will find the Festival Restaurant area under the marquee in Place Voltaire with two menus to choose from.

Throughout the weekend, also visit the gourmet cloister to eat under the cloister and enjoy entertainment and performances by the Bandas!
Local producers and winemakers from Val de Gascogne and Plaimont Producteurs are running the tents at Place du Bataillon de l'Armagnac: tasting of oysters, wine and champagne.

The Festival is eco-responsible and is committed to renewing the use of reusable cups, selective waste sorting, carpooling...
