Mother's Story is an adaptation of the novel The
Sources by Marie-Hélène Lafon.
In a short story of incredible intensity, Marie-Hélène
Lafon tells the daily life of a woman who is a victim of
domestic violence in rural France in the 1970s
1960.
Two ordinary days in the life of a thirty-year-old woman
years old, life ruined, screwed, stuck between a violent husband
and his three children who are his whole life. In writing
unique and magnificently embodied by Marie-Hélène
Lafon, gestures take the place of speech. The actor
who carries the mother's words, becomes one with her. This
deep and intimate knowledge that he has of her brings him
to a possible incarnation. He lets himself be crossed by his
gestures, his thoughts, his pains, his gentleness too...
