The Orchestre national du Capitole de Toulouse has established itself today as one of the great
world symphony orchestras and has remained, for over thirty years, a loyal friend
of the NMA. Under the baton of the Russian-Dutch musician Alexei Ogrintchouk, one of the
Featuring some of the most brilliant musicians of their generation, this program juxtaposes two sides of the
Viennese classicism: on the one hand, the dramatic and heroic impulse of Beethoven, with
the overture to Prometheus and the flamboyant Symphony No. 7, described by Wagner as "
the apotheosis of dance”; on the other hand, the luminous elegance of Mozart in his Concerto
for bassoon, the only concerto he dedicated to this instrument that has survived.
