The painter Catherine Moreau is exhibiting her paintings from June 18 to September 30, 2026 in the Galerie des Orages. “OVER THERE…THE CLOUDS…” is an invitation to reverie and travel through the artist’s powerful, contemplative, Japanese-inspired paintings.

"It was in Japan that Catherine Moreau placed the tip of her brush, barely weighed down by India ink, onto the rice paper with light but sure touches.

It was in accepting the absence of ornamentation, silence and emptiness that Catherine was able to absorb the riches that lead to the essential.

While taking care to break the rigidity of symmetry, his brush found a way to accomplish a few strokes, a few curves, which allow a natural breath to breathe and reveal a kind of graphic harmony.

Catherine Moreau's works are situated at the heart of a universe that is both rigorous and dreamlike. Our gaze rests on the lines of her paintings, sometimes deliberately unfinished, simply to give free rein to our imagination.
