The Requiem of the Innocents is the story of Louis Calaferte's life, from his adolescent development in the Lyon area during the war years of 1939-1945; an era marked by public health policies aimed at combating the unsanitary conditions that reigned in these "no man's lands." Louis Calaferte's story resonates intensely and fiercely with our own time – a quest for self-discovery, beyond identity, towards the poetry of life.
