"What happens behind closed doors, stays behind closed doors." VIVA! is the true story of Pepe and Maria, a couple caught in the turmoil of the Spanish Civil War and the Francoist dictatorship.

On stage, a desk covered in objects: writing paper, a stapler, chalk, tape, pencils, and a pencil sharpener. Around the desk sit Daniel, a Spanish lawyer, and Lisa, a French actress—a contemporary couple. Together, they will attempt to reconstruct the tragic fate of their grandparents. With great subtlety, the two artists deliver a powerful narrative where grand history intersects with a more intimate story.

Never forgetting the saving power of humor, Viva! questions the share of collective responsibility hidden in individual acts and the capacity of a society to repair and transform itself.

A favourite show at the last edition of the MIMA puppet festival in Mirepoix (Ariège), this creation by the Loquace Cie is overflowing with intelligence, humour and accuracy.
