Two life-size puppets and Sicilian folk songs are the two main ingredients of this show. With great virtuosity, the artists whisk us away, filled with laughter and live music, to a Sicily of yesteryear.

The Art of Making Do with Leftovers pays a moving tribute to old age and what remains of a life dedicated to music and song. Deeply attached to their Sicilian roots and the island's popular melodies, Esther, Rebecca, and Emmanuelle—the three puppeteer/musicians—seek to convey the emotion of these songs. Manipulating two life-size puppets, they invite the audience into the world of this concert, both poignant and burlesque. For the "privilege of age" grants these two wrinkled artists the freedom to express their strong character…

While playing the synthesizer, guitar, bass drum, and singing, the three actresses bring the puppets to life with realism and humor. Before our delighted eyes, the magic happens: a trip to Sicily without leaving your seat!
