Conference: The Ténarèze, a legendary route

On Saturday, September 12th at 15pm, discover the fascinating history of the Ténarèze, one of the oldest routes in Gascony, during a conference followed by the signing of Rose-Marie Caprice Richard's book "La Ténarèze, une voie mythique".

Discover this historic route which connects the Garonne to the Pyrenees and which has shaped the history of Gascony for millennia.

Through an illustrated presentation, Rose-Marie Caprice Richard and Philippe Gavarret, writers and historians, will present the results of three years of research conducted in archives, in the field, and with numerous witnesses. They will trace the history of this legendary route, used since prehistoric times by early humans, then by the Romans, pilgrims to Santiago de Compostela, merchants, smugglers, and many other travelers.

You will discover the origin of the name "Ténarèze", its role as a watershed between the Garonne and Adour basins, the trade between Gascony and Aragon, as well as the many legends that mark this route.

At the end of the conference, Rose-Marie Caprice Richard will offer a book signing of her work "La Ténarèze, une voie mythique" (Book price: €20).
